Reaches Out To Hispanic Trucking Market Holland, MI - July 11th, 2005 - Recognizing the growing population of Hispanic truck drivers, Sloan Transportation Products has announced an initiative to reach out to this segment of the marketplace. According to the Bureau of Labor Statistics, 15 percent of the 3.2 million truck drivers in the U.S. are Hispanic. Sloan Transportation Products has translated two of its most popular product brochures into Spanish--Gladhands and Coiled Air--along with the company’s corporate brochure. The brochures are also targeted for use in Latin America. “We have found that a number of U.S.-based truckers, and their service providers, prefer to read materials in Spanish,” said Douglas S. Thomson, vice president, sales and marketing, Sloan Transportation Products. “Our new outreach to the Hispanic market acknowledges their growing influence and importance in the heavy duty market. It also gives our distributors another tool to help reach this industry segment.”

Brochure from Sloan Introduces USA-Plus Electrical Wiring Harnesses Holland, MI - June 8th, 2005 - Sloan Transportation Products has completed a brochure announcing its new line of USA-Plus electrical wiring harnesses. Sloan’s expanded product line resulted from an agreement with USA Harness of Winnsboro, Texas that was announced at MATS 2005 in Louisville. Sloan is now the company’s exclusive distributor for 0E-quality wire harnesses for the heavy duty aftermarket. The USA-Plus premium line of harnesses is a complete cab-to-tail light solution, engineered to provide the highest quality, durable protection against corrosion and harsh weather. USA-Plus harnesses utilize both a secondary pin-lock and an integral “O-ring” style sealing protection that’s molded into the connector. These unique features help prevent moisture from reaching the terminal areas. The harnesses also feature ultra-sonic welded splice joints providing positive contact that minimizes current loss. Sloan announces MAXXDuty line of products Holland, MI - April 1, 2005- To meet the needs brought on by extreme weather conditions, Sloan Transportation Products has announced the introduction of its new MAXXDuty™ with WeatherGuard Technology line of products. MAXXDuty is being unveiled to the heavy duty industry during the 2005 Mid-America Truck Show (MATS) in Louisville, KY.

The MAXXDuty line
includes patented, premium quality electrical wire harnesses developed in
connection with Winnsboro, Texas-based USA Harness, as part of their USA
Plus premium line. The harnesses utilize both a secondary pin-lock and an

As part of its
MAXXDuty line, Sloan is also introducing its new Coiled Electrical
Seven-Way Sealed Plug. Made in the USA, the plug assembly
has a number of weather-resistant features including the industry’s
first plug-face gasket that ensures a positive seal to the socket. In
addition, an integrated drip edge keeps contaminants from tracking down
the cable into the plug/socket connection.
Sloan has utilized an over-molding process that goes over the cable
to keep contaminants out. Ergonomic gripping points developed by Sloan
assist in plugging and unplugging. To complement this product, Sloan is introducing a
Sealed Receptacle that mates to the Sealed Plug and
has the same over-molded technology.

Big Idea Promotion Produces Winning Product Idea Holland, MI April 1, 2005 - Sloan Transportation Products announced today the winning entry in its “What’s Your Big Idea?” contest was submitted by Freddie Carver, owner, F&F Trucking, Tampa, Fla. Carver’s idea for an electrical safety device is currently under development by Sloan engineers and will be unveiled at a later date when the product is ready for market. Carver’s winning idea entitles him to the Grand Prize of $1,000. For
the past year the company has invited heavy-duty professionals to offer
their best ideas for new and improved air and electrical products. Kenny
Scott, owner/operator of Werhane of Winnsboro, Texas was the First Prize
winner in the contest of a Sony all-in-one DVD player. His entry was
selected in a random drawing among all
contest entries. The contest winners were recognized at the 2005 Mid America Truck Show (MATS) in Louisville, Ky. by Douglas S. Thomson, vice president, sales and marketing, Sloan Transportation Products. “The Big Idea was a great success for our company,” said Thomson. “It gave us the opportunity to hear ideas directly from the field -- ideas that can help us develop products that meet the needs of owner operators, fleets and end users.”
